How does “time in turn” work?

Modified on Fri, 19 May 2023 at 04:56 PM

Time in turn is the measure of an athletes time during a 180 degree reversal, around a gate.

To effect a time in turn test the following ,must be understood

  1. The gate is set up in a normal fashion, using a reflector. The gate and reflector are perpendicular to the direction of travel.
  2. The athlete must FIRST break the Laser beam, then reverse the turn and return to complete the 180 degree reversal on the OPPOSITE side of the timing gate.
  3. The Ultrasonic sensor will detect the athlete and predict the time at virtaul centre point of the 60 degree cone of ultrasonic beam.
  4. SYNCRO will deliver the time between (2) and (3) events as the time in turn.
