Charging DNA Timing Gates

Modified on Tue, 01 Aug 2023 at 09:48 AM

DNA Timing Gates utilise wireless charging technology to charge the internal lithium ion battery of each device.

The included carry case of Pro timing systems comes with chargers built into the carry case, while standard systems will have a power supply and wireless charging sleeve provided for each timing gate.

A completely flat timing gate will take approximately 10 hours to reach full charge, which is indicated by the power switch LED turning off.

Pro DNA Timing System

With our Pro timing system carry case, wireless chargers are built into the case, capable of charging up to 6 devices at a time.

  1. Position your timing gates inside the carry case.
  2. Plug your carry case into mains power, and switch on.
Important: Do not close the lid of your carry case while charging.

The power switch on each of your timing gates will turn on while charging, and will turn off once the charge is complete. Note the orientation of some timing gates in the carry case will mean the power switch will not be visible.

You can also see the charging status of each device inside the Syncro app.

Open the Syncro app and go to Settings -> Device Management, and pull down on screen to refresh.

You will see a list of charging devices on screen which shows the current battery percentage.

Charging Individual Timing Gates

Timing Gates that do not come with a Pro carry case, will each be supplied with a power supply, USB - MicroUSB cable, and wireless charging sleeve.

  1. Slide the wireless charging sleeve onto the top of the timing gate.
The sleeve is designed to help position the contained charging pad centrally on top of the timing gate for most efficient charging.
  2. Plug the MicroUSB end of the supplied cable into the wireless charging pad, and the USB end into the power supply.
  3. Plug power supply into wall socket and switch on.

The power switch on your timing gate will turn on while charging, and will turn off once the charge is complete.

You will also notice a green/blue charging indicator on the wireless charging pad. The behaviour of this light is as follows:

GREEN - Wireless charging pad is powered, but is not in position on timing gate for charge

BLUE - Wireless charging pad is powered, and has detected timing gate for charge

Combining the indicators on the timing gate and wireless charging pad, we get the following charging statuses:

Troubleshooting

If you have issues with charging, try these tips to help identify and resolve your issue.

Issue
Solution

LED indicator on Charging Pad does not turn on at all

Check power outlet has been switched on and is plugged in correctly.

Ensure MicroUSB Cable has been plugged into wireless charging pad correctly.

Try using a different wall adapter, e.g. an iPhone charger, to identify if issue with supplied power supply.

Only use dedicated power supply for charging, for example do not use USB port on computer or laptop, or power bank.
LED indicator on charging pad turns green, but never turns blue when positioned on timing gate for charging
Ensure you are using supplied power supply, and charging pad is centered on top of timing gate. Some other power sources such as USB ports on a computer may not be able to supply the required current to charge timing gates.

Remove charging pad from timing gate, and switch power to charging pad off and on again, and retry.

Remove charging pad from timing gate. Turn timing gate on first, and then position powered charging pad on top of gate for charging.

LED indicator on charging pad is flashing blue/greenMiscommunication between charging pad and timing gate, or foreign object detection.

Ensure there is no other material between charging pad and timing gate.

Remove charging pad from timing gate, turn power off and on again. Ensure LED indicator on charging pad is static green at this stage. Retry charging.

Remove charging pad from timing gate. Turn timing gate on first, and then position powered charging pad on top of gate for charging.
