Using QR Code Stickers for Athlete Identification (ID)

Swift Labs provides the ability to Generate QR Codes to quickly identify athletes in large testing groups.

Generating QR Codes

Swift Labs provides two methods for generating QR codes; firstly, an individual QR code can be generated for a single athlete and secondly multiple QR codes can be generated for a group.

Individual Athlete

Navigating to the athlete detail page by clicking on an athlete in the athlete list will display the detail page shown in the image below. Clicking on the action menu (three dots) will display a few options. Clicking ‘Generate QR’ will display the generated QR code.


Clicking on the three dotes reveals the Generate QR option.


In the QR window, there are two buttons, Download and Print. The download will let you download the image to use with additional software if required.


Clicking on the print button will generate the QR code in a printable document that must be downloaded. The picture below illustrates the generated document. The individual QR document is intended to be generated on for individual printing. For generating multiple QR codes, see the following section.






Group QR Codes

Swift Labs can generate a list of QR codes from a single group or multi-selected athletes. For athletes in a group, navigate to the desired group within the Groups list; clicking on the three dots will expose additional actions. Clicking ‘Generate QR’ will navigate and generate a series of QR codes.

Clicking on the three dots reveals the Generate QR option for groups.



Once you have navigated to the Group QR code page, there are a few actions available. The QR codes are generated in the format that they will be printed as, providing and an overview into how the sticker will look.


Similar to the Individual athlete QR code, the print button will provide a PDF to download with the QR codes in the printable format.


Supported sticker printer paper includes the Avery 980001.

The print button will download a printable pdf in the correct dimensions for the Avery product.


The sheet must be printed in A4 size with no margins.

If you wish to use another printing method Swift Labs also provides the ability to download all QR codes by pressing the Download button. This will put all images in a zip file for your convenience.


Individual Athlete Selection


Swift Labs also provides the ability to generate multiple QR codes for athletes that are not in a group. Clicking on the square to the left of the Athletes name while hovering, exposes an action menu on the top right (three dots). Clicking on ‘Generate QR’ will generate a series of QR codes like in the previous section.

Syncro QR Scanning


To scan a QR code in Syncro, first navigate to the ‘Run Test’ tab. To the left next to the ‘Athletes’ label at the very top of the screen, there is a QR button.



Clicking this button, after accepting any Camera permissions, will display the QR scanning window. Scanning the QR code will automatically select the scanned athlete and start the selected activity preset.



Ezejump QR Scanning


To scan a QR code in the Ezejump application, navigate to the Run Test tab. Clicking on the dropdown box to select an athlete, click the QR code icon to the left of ‘Select new athlete’.



After accepting the camera permissions, a QR code scanner window will be displayed where you can scan the generated QR codes. Scanning the QR code will automatically select the scanned athlete.
